Appleton Thorn School of Dance was established in 1996 by the principal Karen Speers, B. Ed., AISTD,CDE(CB). Karen is a qualified and registered teacher with the I.S.T.D. and has a wealth of experience in teaching children and adults and has been a full time teacher at a local secondary school for over 30 years. She has taught dance and drama at KS3, GCSE Dance, Expressive Arts and Child Development, BTEC Performing Arts and A level Performance Studies. The school has opened classes at a number of venues in South Warrington and in September 2008 moved to their own studios in Stockton Heath.

As a parent herself Karen understands you want the best for your child and, to that, end all the classes are taught by qualified and experienced teachers. All staff are CRB checked.

The teachers aim to develop confidence, sense of rhythm and love of dance in a structured and encouraging environment.

Opportunities are available for examinations, shows, displays, summer schools, theatre trips, workshops,and residential trips.
